What happened
In 2021, the Neverskip School Management System in India experienced a significant data breach. The breach was due to an unsecured AWS S3 bucket, leading to the exposure of personal information of over 5 million users. This included usernames, phone numbers, hashed passwords, full names, emails, street addresses, and other sensitive details. The breach compromised data of students, parents, and school staff. Despite the discovery and subsequent securing of the database, the leaked information was downloaded and distributed online before the vulnerability was addressed.
